Bedford Area Carer Groups

We run a variety of different groups with a range of different activities ideal opportunity to meet others, listen to speakers and make friends. You can download the latest Bedford Borough groups and training brochure here.

Support Groups

Activity Groups

Bedford Evening Carers Group

  • Provides support for carers who are caring for someone with mental health issues and would like to share their experiences with others
  • Speakers are regulary invited to talk on issues relevant to carers
  • Ideal for carers who are busy during the day
  • 2nd Monday of the month from 7pm to 9pm

Bedford Camera Club

  • Gives carers the opportunity to join together in a creative activity
  • Last Thursday of the month from 1.30pm to 3.30pm

Carers Rest

  • Provides a haven for both carers and their loved ones living with Dementia, Alzheimers or Memory Loss
  • They run social activities with a hot lunch and occasional speakers
  • Every Tuesday from 10am - 1.30pm

Carers Choir

  • No experience needed! Singing is good for your wellbeing and great fun too
  • Meets fortnightly on a Tuesday 9.45am - 11.45am
  • Priory Methodist Church

Former carers group

  • For carers when the person they care for has passed away or moved into residential care
  • Meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month between 10.30am and 12 noon
  • Various garden centres in Bedford Borough .
  • Limited transport can be provided for those who cannot drive or do not have access to a car. It needs to be booked at least 7 days in advance.

  • For carers of those with learning disabilities and a chance to meet others, listen to speakers

  • 4th Friday of the month from 10 to 12pm

Book Club

  • Open to all carers
  • Meets on the 3rd Thursday or Friday of the month

  • A place for all carers to share their experiences with each other and find support and information

  • For parent carers or those who support a child under 18 with additional needs
  • A chance to meet others, get information and advice and group often has speakers
