Christmas Tree Festival

xmas_tree_young_carers.jpg

The Carers in Bedfordshire Christmas Tree stood tall and proud this weekend with one hundred others at the popular Christmas Tree Festival at St Pauls Church, Bedford.

It featured characters from children's stories who look after someone who couldn't manage without them and was decorated by young carers who came up with the ideas such as

  • Peter Pan, who looks after The Lost Boys
  • Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, who looks after his grandparents
  • Little Red Riding Hood who looks after her grandma
  • Jack & The Beanstalk who looks after his mother

The Festival was open to the public and visited by schools. One visitor said "I never realised there were so many stories with young carers"
The Carers Choir performed on the Sunday, indirectly providing a musical backdrop to the clip on Anglia News later that day
