Recruiting now to our Dementia Services team

Carers in Bedfordshire has grown rapidly in the 13 years since the charity was founded. From supporting 50 carers from our founder’s conservatory, we now have over 8,500 family carers of all ages registered to receive support. We have a team of over 40 staff and 100 volunteers, and operate across five sites.

Carer Support Worker (Dementia) and Memory Navigator

Ref: CSWD18

21 hours a week/starting salary £20,516 FTE (pro rata for part time hours)

Carers in Bedfordshire’s Bedford offices

The aim of our support is to help families affected by dementia navigate a seamless route through services available to them, guiding them along the way.

We are looking for someone with experience working with people with dementia or memory loss, and their carers, to join our busy, friendly team of staff and volunteers.

In this role you will help people affected by dementia to identify and access services that will maintain their health and wellbeing. These include:

  • one-to-one support, both over the phone and face to face
  • group activities including carer groups and information sessions
  • cognitive stimulation activities for people living with dementia

Key to the role is working in partnership with other organisations, nationally and locally, and the creativity and empathy to help people find solutions that work for them.
