We’re looking for at least three new staff members to join our busy support team, helping carers and people living with dementia to be healthy and well.

Carers Grant Support Worker

  • Ref: CGSW18
  • Starting salary: £20,516 FTE (pro rata for part-time hours)
  • Part-time: 21-25 hours a week over at least 4 days
  • Bedford-based

We support over 1,000 family carers of all ages every year to improve their wellbeing through awarding an NHS Carers Grant. From household products to massage therapy, each grant awarded helps a carer cope with the stresses and strains of daily caring.

We’re looking for a Support Worker to help carers who are eligible to apply for a Carers Grant to make the most of this opportunity, as part of the holistic support that Carers in Bedfordshire offer. We’re looking for someone who combines excellent people skills and creativity. You’ll also have to be comfortable with figures and confident with IT, particularly using a database.

The role needs to be covered 21-25 hours a week over at least 4 days. We will consider applications from applicants able to offer at least 10 hours per week over 2 days.

Dementia Support Worker/Memory Navigators

  • Ref: CSWD18-2
  • Starting salary: £20,516 FTE (pro rata for part-time hours)
  • Part-time (ideally 21 hours per week) and sessional roles available
  • Bedford-based

Dementia Support Worker/Memory Navigators help people living with dementia and carers to live well through signposting and supporting them to access the services that will help them. No day is the same – you will be supporting people over the phone through the Navigation  Service, delivering  group activities including Cognitive Stimulation sessions and helping out with Information and awareness activities.

We are looking for a number of people for this role, both part-time (14-21 hours a week) and to work with us on a sessional basis to help with busy times and holidays.

Dementia Service Activity Organiser

  • Ref: DSAO18
  • Starting salary: £18,615 FTE (pro rata for part-time hours)
  • Part-time: 25 hours a week over at least 4 days; hours must include Tuesdays up to 2pm to deliver the Carers Rest
  • Bedford-based

 The new, varied role of Dementia Service Activity Organiser will play a key part in ensuring our dementia activities run smoothly. Key to the role is organising and attending the weekly Carers Rest group, which is highly valued by carers as a break from their caring role. You will also help with organising other groups and activities including Gateway information sessions and courses. This role is perfect for someone who ‘thinks of everything’ when it comes to organising an event or activity, but is also a people person who will thrive working with carers, people living with memory loss and volunteers.

25 hours a week initially over a minimum of 4 days; hours must include Tuesdays up to 2pm to deliver the Carers Rest
