Carers in Bedfordshire is an incorporated charity and our governing document is the Memorandum and Articles of Association.
The Board of Trustees is the charity’s governing body. We are also a company limited by guarantee.
We are regulated by the Charity Commission and comply with Company Law.
We are a Network Partner of the Carers Trust and are registered with the Fundraising Regulator.
Our board members come from many different backgrounds, skills and interests. The majority of them also have experience of caring for a family member or friend. Board members are not paid, they are volunteers.
We are a membership organisation. Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in caring and wants to have a say in the future of the charity.
Full Members make key decisions at the Annual General Meeting, but also help inform the work of the charity during the year. Members act as ‘critical friends’, asking key questions, and using their personal experience and/or expertise to help the charity develop. Members have voting rights at the AGM and act as a guarantor if the charity is wound up, limited to £1.
This is a voluntary role, reasonable expenses will be covered.
If you want to have your say in the future of Carers in Bedfordshire and meet with the trustees twice a year or so, this could be perfect for you
By registering with us as a carer you will get access to a whole range of services, including advice, information, access to our groups, events and carers grants.
