Diverse communities

We have been working with members of the community to extend our valuable service to carers.

We have been working with members of the community to extend our valuable service to carers. We have made leaflets and videos in Urdu, Punjabi and Bengali to explain what help is available and how to access it.

These videos for carers in Urdu, Punjabi and Bengali explain what help is available. Due to funding resources we do not have a dedicated support worker, however many of our staff speak an additional language and can support you registering. If you need translation to help you access and engage with services please contact your local authority.

Bedford Borough Council uses  Absolute Interpreting Translations Ltd for interpreting services.  Interpreters need to be booked at least 5 days in advance or at a push no less than 48 hours notice.

Central Bedfordshire Council use DA Languages for translation support. There will be a charge unless referred to by the local authority.

Thanks are due to the Carers Trust for funding these resources. Thanks also to Aysha Magre and Fsella Pagliari who worked with us on the steering group for this project.
