For Dementia Action Week, everyone was being encouraged to take actions big and small to improve the lives of people affected by dementia.
Events occured all across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Our Memory Navigation Service had a busy week attending events across Bedfordshire, including hosting a Dementia Friends Briefing in the CiB Bedford office to a range of Carers, Staff and Volunteers.
They were also involved in events in The Higgins (Bedford), Dunstable Library and Flitwick library alongside many local support services to raise awareness and provide extra oppurtunities for access to support- for both Carers and anyone living with Dementia or having memory concerns.
In the UK, one person develops dementia every three minutes. Yet too many people living with dementia face the condition alone and excluded from society.
There is a strong movement for change, to create a dementia-friendly UK where people with dementia are included and supported to live the lives they want.
