This Carers Week - 10th to 16th June 2019 - we encouraged Carers and the community to become more connected!
We started off the week at Sorelli Café on Leighton Buzzard for our Business Networking Lunch themed on the Carers Discount Card and how more local businesses could get involved!
Monday's highlights included a stand in Luton Library promoting the L&D Hospital Carers Lounge, Lake & Cake was a chance for supporters, members & trustees to meet and a Young Carers family event at Kings House, all of which were attended by our CEO, Helen!
On Tuesday, we were at Houghton Hall Park hoping for a picnic but the weather meant that coffee and lunch were had in the café instead and we were at Kings House again for a Parent Carer Networking event!
Wednesday saw information stands at Bedford Hospital and Biggleswade Library, an opportunity to Meet the Team for carers in Ivel Valley & West Mid Beds at Flitvale Garden Centre and a talk for the Women's Group at Kings Oak School. We also premiered our first animation made about the Carers' Cafés by DBM Motion Graphics, Rob Birnie, who is giving his time completely free of charge!
Thursday included a stand at the Volunteers' Fair in Luton, a display of our Art Group's work at our Biggleswade Office and our 5 Ways to Wellbeing workshop went on the road to the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Bedford.
On Friday, we had information all over the county with stands at Shefford Library, Langford Garden Centre, Bedford Hospital and King Street Surgery in Kempston.
