Our volunteers are incredibly enthusastic and commited - they make such a difference in our community and to our charity.
Every single volunteer makes a huge impact on Carers in Bedfordshire and together, our volunteers gave 9124 hours in 2017-2018!
We now have around 110 volunteers, giving their time in a variey of ways; Admin, Activity helper, Ambassadors, grant panels and dementia befrienders to name only a few ways that volunteers contribute to helping to support as many carers as possible.
One of the volunteer's said "I first got involved to keep my skills up as my background is in help and advice. I also find it’s good for my own emotional wellbeing".
As a way of saying Thank You, we hosted a special Volunteers Social Pub Quiz and put up displays all around Bedfordshire to showcase the terrific contribution that volunteers make.
We've also nominated a volunteer for a Local Hero award in recognition of all the hard work and commitment given by our whole volunteer team.
"I’m constantly amazed by how generous you are with your time, how often those of you who are already busy offer to do something else. We all know that if unpaid carers downed tools the NHS would collapse. If you all downed tools, Carers in Bedfordshire simply couldn’t do what we are so needed for. Thank you so much."
